Meet the team

Alyson Evans / Co-creator

Alyson has worked around the world as a performer, theatre maker and community artist with a particular focus on cultural development and social change.

In Australia Alyson has facilitated theatre programs and made work with numerous remote Indigenous communities, young people at risk both in and out of Juvenile Justice Centres through Sydney Theatre Company, with adults with physical and intellectual disabilities whist as the Arts Access and Development Manager for Red Door Arts (Sydney), with male and female prisoners (NT and Wales), and people of all ages from refugee background. 

Outside of Australia Alyson has created theatre performances for vulnerable communities in Cambodia (Phare Ponleu Selpak), underwent a 4 week residency exploring immersive theatre for linguistically diverse children in Nepal (Marpha Foundation) and was an actor/applied theatre practitioner in UK.

She continues her passion of providing theatre opportunities to those who geographical location makes it difficult to access by traveling across Australia to deliver theatre programs in some of its most remote and rural places. 

In 2015 Alyson received the Kirk Robson Award from the Australia Council for the Arts, which recognises outstanding leadership from artists working in community arts and cultural development.

Tahni Froudist / Co-creator

Tahni is an independent performing arts producer who has lived and worked on the Border since 2014, when she moved from Sydney to take over as General Manager and co-CEO at HotHouse Theatre. Prior to this she was the Associate Producer at Belvoir (Sydney), a core member of the artistic and programming team under the directorship of Ralph Myers and Brenna Hobson.

In 2017 she founded her company Froudist, with a focus on contemporary practice and participatory work. Froudist has since collaborated with Outback Theatre for Young People, Flying Fruit Fly Circus, THE RABBLE, Alyson Evans, Emily Goddard, Holly Austin, Perth International Arts Festival, Cubbyhouse Co, Daniel Schlusser Ensemble and Adena Jacob’s Fraught Outfit. Currently based in Albury-Wodonga, Froudist works across the country as a producer, consultant, and arts manager, proudly supporting the development, creation and touring of new Australian work.

Tahni is also currently a producer with Performing Lines and Executive Producer at Flying Fruit Fly Circus. Working across artform, Tahni has worked with emerging, mid-career and established artists to create works for theatres, festivals and in community.

Katy Moir / Designer

Katy’s primary creative practice is the creation and activation of space, with a passion for community engagement. She is interested in art that responds to its place and in turn causes a reaction, supporting stories that encourage conversation and break down barriers.

Katy is the current Creative in Residency at NT Archives. In 2019 she received funding from NT Regional Arts Fund for Place Based Design, an exploration of how NT designers are informed by and respond to place. She designed the Shifting Realities installation for Darwin Festival and was a participant in the Browns Mart & Performing Lines artist residency. She is the set designer for Neighbour, an immersive theatre performance set around a dinner table.

Peta Khan / Mapping platform creator

Peta is an experienced multi platform producer and director with a background in producing factual and educational content.

She is co-founder of Maitree House and passionate about sharing stories and celebrating diversity and everyday courage.
